The World Is My Oyster

____________________________________________________________________

"The world is my oyster"

Oddly, this quote just randomly popped into my head and is pretty appropriate to what I have been feeling lately.  Basically, I feel like I can have so many opportunities, but I can't grab them fast enough.  There doesn't seem to be enough time in a day anymore.  From daily tasks, work, chores, projects, social life etc., how do you find the time? I just don't want to lose that chance to do something because I wasn't quick enough to jump on the ball.

Life changes, moments pass, and opportunities can slip away.  I need time management, and to figure out what's most important or adds the most value to my life.

I know.  I can't do it all.  *tears*

How do you find the time in your day to do everything?
I need to know!

Side note:  The rendering above is from my ipad on paper by 53 :)

Paper Doll created on Paper by 53

____________________________________________________________________

Today, I discovered an app called Paper by 53.  This app, like so many other drawing apps, gives you the ability to draw directly onto your tablet.  for example, the illustration I created above, was done on my ipad 2 with a cheap stylus I bought at a computer store.

I have to say, I've tried many other free drawing apps, and so far this one is my favorite.

Pros:
- You get "sketchbooks" and "journals"  just like you would have in real life.
- They have an option for you to view other people's sketches and ideas for inspiration.
- The tools are very true to life, feel and look.  (For example, a pencil really works and looks like a pencil drawn on paper, and the fountain pen goes from thick to thin)
- The mixer lets you create every color imaginable.
- you can "zoom" in on your drawing to add the smallest details possible.

Cons:
- There's no option to change the size of your tool (then again same in real life)
- No option for opacity
- the "rewind" button is kind of annoying (rather have an undo button)
- There's no pressure sensitivity for strokes
- you have to pay for extra tools

All in all, I would say this app compared to other free apps is an A in my book.

Other neat features:
- They have their own "stylus" pen which sells for about $40 - $50 depending on which one you choose.  It's cool because you have bluetooth technology built in for palm rejection, meaning that the app knows you are holding the pen so that you won't accidentally mark on the paper with your hand/palm/fingers.

-When you've used up your pages in one of the many sketchbooks you have.  You can actually order a physical Moleskin sketchbook with all your drawings/writings/notes printed inside!  So cool!

So, as you can see, I'm really excited about this app!  I was going to order their stylus, but the bluetooth technology only works with ipad minis and ones with retina display...and not for ipad 2s!  BLAH.

If you want more info just check out their website: http://www.fiftythree.com
And no they didn't tell me to write this...I just like the app!

Anyways, expect more ipad drawings from me!  I'll probably switch it up once in a while. laters!
